Desert Rain Editing
Write like rain on the page
and let Desert Rain Editing bring forth your blossoms
Editing is a necessity for every writer.
As a reader, typos are distracting and confusing passages make us put the book down. As a writer, typos and confusing passages can ruin our credibility and make us lose our readers.
You know what you meant to say, and your mind fills in the missing words and intended thoughts. Yes, it’s easy to miss your own mistakes because you’re too close to your own work.
I will check for correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and clarity of thought, as well as view the whole work for consistency in tone, smooth transitions from paragraph to paragraph, and well-organized ideas, while respecting your voice and vision for your project.
Let's connect, shall we?
My name is Gleniece. I am a writer and editor with experience in proofreading and editing non-fiction Christian publications.
I do light developmental editing, extensive line editing, and final proofreading.
If you write blog posts, Bible studies, magazine articles, e-books, e-Courses, traditional or self-published books, I would be happy to offer you my services.
What kind of editor do you need?
If your manuscript has had extensive edits, you may only need a proofreader. In that case, I will be the final eyes to catch any errors that may have slipped through. I will also check that all headers, font size and selection, and word spacing are consistent throughout.
Proofreading rates: $.01 per word
If you have finished your first or second draft, you will need a copy or line editor. I will not only zero in on the details of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting issues, but I will look at the wider picture pointing out places that might cause reader confusion, any inconsistencies in word choice and tone, and areas where you could improve sentence structure.
Copyeditor rates: $3–$4 per page or $20 an hour.
Payment plans are available.
How this works:
Send me an email, dear writer.
I would love to get to know you and your writing project.
Once we connect, you can send a sample of your work for me to edit free of charge.
I will upload it into Google Docs and use the suggestion mode for you to see the reasons behind my editing decisions.
Once I understand what your project needs, I can give you a final price.
It is my sole intent to serve you to the best of my abilities.
Barring power outages, internet disruptions, sickness, or sudden family obligations, once we have an agreement, I will work tirelessly to make your project shine.
I will be your champion, partner, and friend in this exciting adventure of publication.
"I needed an editor, but I really wanted her to be a sister in Christ. Flourished Writers recommended Gleniece Lytle. She was such a pleasure to work with, professional and kind. Her suggestions never altered my intent which is one of the areas I was concerned about. She was patient with my inexperience in this process. Her fees were beyond fair. I highly recommend her.” —Lynda Sauls
“I am so grateful for Gleniece’s expert eyes on my Bible Studies. She not only points out basic errors but stays faithful to the word of God. Her editing and her invaluable friendship over the years have made me a better writer and strengthened me in my walk with Christ. As long as she will help me, I plan on coming to her again and again.” —Lisa Morris
Every writer needs an editor
Let me help bring your project to its full bloom.
